Army undertakes many of its welfare activities through Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA). It is headed by wife of Chief of Army Staff(COAS) as President. AWWA plays a significant role in providing mental , psychological and other help/ support to Veer Naris and other wives /Widows of soldiers ,particularly when they are in distress.
Ms Ruby Bano is NCCHWO Member, stationed at Srinagar. Her Husband was killed by Terrorists ,in front of whole family, when he came on leave for funeral of his son. A very brave women, Ms Ruby Bano has undertaken task of supporting other Veer Naris and has been a great help to put across their problems to the Govt and other authorities.
To recognize her services and to honour her for relentless welfare activities rendered for Veer Naris, she was felicitated with Award of Excellence by President AWWA . The certificate was handed over by Army to Ms Ruby Bano , in an impressive function held at Srinagar.
It was a proud moment for NCCHWO as she was the second member of NCCHWO ,who was felicitated by Army ,with a National level recognition ,after an Award of Appreciation was bestowed upon Brig Harcharan Singh by COAS in Dec 2024.
The series of Awards conferred upon members of NCCHWO speak volumes about the quality welfare activities undertaken by NCCHWO for Soldiers and their families. Whole family of NCCHWO is committed towards service to our brave soldiers ,their families and Veer Naris.
