A Symposium was held at APS Akhnoor to educate the students about the Dignity of Women and the role played by them in Nation building. The Indian Culture believe“where Women are honored, there the God resides”.
The event was graced by GOC Cross Sword Division as the Chief Guest . Brig Harcharan Singh ,VSM, National Administrator of National Corruption Control & Human Welfare Organisation accordingly planned for a Symposium with the support of APS Akhnoor, where accomplished women /Speakers were invited to motivate students, through their success stories. The concept of event was introduced by Brig Harcharan Singh, emphasizing on examples from the history about those Women, who made the Nation proud.The relevant Articles of Constitution were quoted, which guarantee Dignity to women in society and provide opportunities to Women.
The event was started with a song in the praise of Nari Shakti, by Ms Suresh Bala, a multi-talented personality. She was also selected to represent Jammu University in a Talent Hunt Singing Competition ,held at Banaras Hindu University in 1990.
In her speech, Ms Tina Sahi narrated her journey of transformation from a simple house maker to a Ultra Marathon Runner/TV Anchor/Entrepreneur, through sheer hard work,determination and belief in her abilities. Her many Firsts at National/State Levels in Ultra Marathons races has earned her the title of Iron Lady. She emphasized, never dream alone for success, but work for it.
Dr Kamal Deep Kaur has made her presence felt in the education field through her skills acquired in multifarious fields , to include Education, Book Writer, Counselling and appointment as ANO in NCC. For her achievements ,she has been honored by Raksha Rajya Mantri(2021) and DG NCC(2024). She covered the role of parents and teachers in Character Building and urged students to decide upon an aim ,as per their capabilities, and work with dedication to achieve the aim.
Veer Nari Ruby Bano aptly reflets a Women endowed with qualities of determination , Resilience and Courage. Her husband was shot dead by Terrorists in full view of the family. Since then, she has been a guiding force and support to all Veer Nari of Srinagar. She emphasized on the need to work together for Women Empowerment and welfare.
The Seminar ended with a talk by renowned motivational speaker,Col Ajay Raina ,SM. He is a renowned Author and Historian of National repute. He urged students to study history and follow the Values, Traditions and qualities enshrined in Indian Culture, which would make us good citizens ,with moral values enshrined in our character.
The Chief guest appreciated efforts made by NCCHWO to educate students about our Value System, which would make the Nation strong. In India ,the Women have always been a pillar of strength in a family /Society, referred to as Nari Shakti.
The speakers were honored by the Chief Guest. Also, members of NCCHWO and Inner Wheel Club Jammu,led by President Ms Paramjit Kaur ,were felicitated. Through efforts and donations made by these NGOs,a bathroom was constructed for the family of a poor widow at Akhnoor.Vote of Thanks was delivered by the Principal,APS,Akhnoor.The stage was skilfully managed by Ms Neelam.The National Anthem was recited to conclude the programme.
