Indian Army celebrates 14 Jan as Veteran's Day. On this Day in 1953, the first Indian Army Chief Gen Cariappa, retired. On this day, nation pays tribute to Veterans on this day, for their services, sacrifices and contribution in Nation building.
Dhruva Motorcycle Rally was flagged off from Udhampur which would culminate on 14 Jan at Rajouri.The Rally will make stopovers at various places to interact with Veterans and acknowledge their contributions towards Nation building.
During an impressive ceremony, the Bicycle Rally was received at Nagrota and thereafter flagged off by MLA Nagrota, Ms Devyani Rana, in the presence of Army Officers and Veterans. The Rally will make stopovers at various places , to interact with local veterans.
NCCHWO was represented by Brig Harcharan Singh, National Administrator of NCCHWO during the ceremony at Nagrota. He said that the Veterans are always available to serve the society, even after their retirement from active service. The Veterans imbibe qualities of Nationalism, Loyalty, Honesty, Hard work and Discipline during their service. During recent Floods in J&K and during Operation Sindoor, Veterans have worked tirelessly, supplementing the efforts for providing relief to the flood victims and to supplement security apparatus.
NCCHWO regularly holds interaction with Veer Naris and Disabled Soldiers. The stories of Sacrifices are regularly shared with citizens and Students to motivate them. Felicitation ceremonies are held to honor those who served the country in difficult terrain and inclement weather. Central leadership of NCCHWO paid tribute to sacrifices made by Veterans and Veer Naris. Nation will be ever indebted to our soldiers.
