Metamorphes is a Bangalore based NGO. Smt Shakuntala lost her husband Lt Col Ajit Bhandarkar, SC in J&K, in an operation against Terrorists. She is maintaining contact with NGOs, working for Veer Naris and a major force behind Metamorphes.
Brig Harcharan Singh, National Administrator NCCHWO was interviewed by a team of Metamorphes in October 2025, to know about programmes run by NCCHWO to support families of Martyres.
On an invitation from Metamorphes, Brig Harcharan Singh attended a programme at USI, New Delhi, held on 27 Nov, to pay tribute to Maj CB Dwivedi, SM, who sacrificed his life during Kargil War. Family members of Maj CB Dwivedi and many other prominent personalities from Army and Civil laid Wreath at National War Memorial and thereafter, paid tribute to Maj CB Dwivedi at USI ,through a Documentary and Seminar. National President Women Empowerment Cell NCCHWO, Smt Paramjit Kaur also attended the function.
Brig Harcharan Singh said that many NGOs are working for the Veer Naris and bringing awareness in the society by narrating the stories of valour and sacrifices. NCCHWO will always support such NGOs. NCCHWO conducts programmes to honor the families of Martyres . Veer Naris are adopted, with an aim to provide psychological support to Veer Naris and guide their children through Career Counseling.
To pay tribute to soldiers and to appreciate efforts of various NGOs who are supporting families of Martyres, NCCHWO will continue to participate in such programmes ,in near future also.
