Bengaluru, Karnataka | June 13, 2026 (Saturday):

The Free Self-Defence Training Program for 1st PUC and 2nd PUC students at Government College, Shivajinagar, Bengaluru, successfully completed its second week of training on Saturday, June 13, 2026 by National Corruption Control & Human Welfare Organisation. The initiative aims to promote personal safety, self-confidence, physical fitness, discipline, and awareness among students through regular weekly training sessions.

The program is being conducted by Dr. Vasanth Poovaiah, (Ex-Army and NSG Black Cat Commando), who currently serves as the National Coordinator and Karnataka State President of the National Corruption Control and Human Welfare Organization (NCCHWO).

Following the enthusiastic response received during the inaugural session, student participation continued to grow in the second week. While approximately 60 to 80 students attended the first training session, around 80 to 85 students actively participated in the second week, demonstrating increased interest and commitment toward learning self-defence skills.

The training session included physical fitness exercises, warm-up drills, self-defence techniques, personal safety awareness, and confidence-building activities. Students displayed remarkable enthusiasm, discipline, and dedication throughout the program.

The continued increase in participation reflects the growing awareness among students regarding the importance of self-defence and personal safety. The program has been particularly encouraging for young students, especially girls, by helping them develop confidence, self-discipline, mental strength, and practical self-protection skills.

Dr. Vasanth Poovaiah expressed his sincere gratitude to the Principal, teaching faculty, and students of Government College, Shivajinagar, for their wholehearted support and cooperation. Encouraged by the positive response, the Self-Defence Training Program will continue on a weekly basis throughout the academic year.
