Operation SINDHOOR showcased the Will of India to protect its interests and resolve of Armed Forces of India to defend the Nation. To express solidarity with our Armed Forces and to express gratitude of citizens towards our soldiers, Women members of NCCHWO Jammu, tied sacred threads of Rakhi on the wrist of soldiers. A meeting with War Disabled soldiers was also planned.
The event was planned by Brig Harcharan Singh, National Administrator of National Corruption Control & Human Welfare Organisation. Women members of NCCHWO and Inner Wheel Club Jammu Tawi were in attendance In her opening address Smt Paramjit Kaur, President National Women Empowerment Cell, NCCHWO, appreciated the role played by soldiers in protecting the motherland. Many Soldiers sacrificed their life in the course of duty. NCCHWO has been planning events in order to provide a platform, where the citizens get an opportunity to interact with soldiers and express gratitude for their sacrifices, dedication and valor.
Brig Harcharan Singh said that a soldier fights the enemy to safeguard the frontiers and Citizens. The soldier is motivated by the moral support given by the citizens. Naam, Namak and Nishan are infused in the character of a soldier, which motivates a soldier to carry out his duty under extreme testing conditions. He appreciated the idea of the women from the society, who decided to honor soldiers for their services and patriotism, by tying Rakhies. After tying Rakhis audience gave a standing ovation and applause, in recognition of the selfless services of our Armed Forces. Ms Suresh Bala and Dr Prof Arti Bakshi were present from NCCHWO, besides other ladies from Inner Wheel Club.
Brig Harcharan Singh also held a meeting with War Wounded Soldiers, who were injured due to enemy firing ,during the course of their duties. He apprised soldiers about various schemes offered by the Govt and NGOs e.g. War Wounded Foundation. Many of the schemes are meant to provide rehabilitation opportunities to the Disabled soldiers to improve their financial status and provide them with moral and psychological support.
National Chief Secretary Mr. Ranjeet Verma, National Chairman Me. Deepak Sharma, National President Ms. Rekha Bhooshan, appreciated the concept of reaching out to Soldiers and War Disabled soldiers by our citizens, with an aim to honor them and to spread their saga of valour amongst youth. Our soldiers are safeguarding our frontiers in difficult terrain and extreme weather.Soldiers carry out their job, more as a matter of honor rather than Duty. The nation is proud of them.
