A Visit to Capt Bana Singh -- Soldier who Captured Pak Quaid Post at Siachen : Brig Harcharan Singh National Administrator NCCHWO

These lines depict grit and determination of our  soldiers,who have been guarding the Borders ,in all type of difficult weather. Capt Bana Singh was decorated with highest gallantry Award of Param Veer  Chakra for a dare devil operation on heights of more than 6000 meters and minus 50 degrees Celsius temperature. Paki post of Quaid was captured by Capt Bana Singh,  now renamed as Bana Post, an apt recognition to superhuman efforts of Capt Bana Singh.


Recently, Capt Bana Singh was admitted and operated upon for a medical ailment at Army RR Hospital. He was visited by the COAS,Gen Upendra Dwivedi, while he was admitted to  RR Hospital.After his

arrival at Jammu, Brig Harcharan Singh , National ADMINISTRATOR, NCCHWO decided to pay a visit to the  legend. Along with  Representative of Station HQ Jammu, Lt Col RK Sharma,who is OIC PolyClinic Jammu, the team visited Capt Bana Singh at his village.


The visit was done as per the spirit of  Outreach programme practiced by Army, where ESM are regularly visited by the Army personal. This kind of liaison enhances camaraderie between Army and ESM. Also NCCHWO has been acting like a bridge between ESM and Civilians, through programmes ,where   Soldiers/Veer Naris  are felicitated by civilians. This is expression of gratitude towards bravery and sacrifices of our soldiers by our society.


Capt Bana Singh was conveyed best wishes for his early recovery ,on behalf of all serving and retired soldiers. Capt Bana Singh shared his rich experiences and  expressed his gratitude to Tiger Division and NCCHWO for this visit.


The visiting team was witness to strong patriotic feelings of a brave Soldier,who is  around 76 years of age now. A Soldier is always a Soldier for whom Country comes First, always and everytime.  NCCHWO appreciates the outreach program of the Army and salutes the bonding between Army and the ESM.Our ESM are always at the back and call  of the Nation, having spent period of  their youth , in the  service of  the motherland.Tireless , dedicated and selfless services of our soldiers assures the citizens  that security and safety of the country is in safe and capable  hands.
