The National Flag is a symbol of pride and unity of a country.Citizens rally under it ,irrespective of caste ,creed , religion or political affiliations. Flag Foundation of India, under Presidentship of MP, Sh Naveen Jindal, has started a campaign to install majestic Flag Poles in various parts of India, as presence of National Flag inspires the citizens.
One such event was held in Army Garrison at Nagrota,Jammu.
The occassion was graced by the presence of Mr Naveen Jindal, serving and retired soldiers, Families, NCC Cadets and School Children.
Mr Naveen Jindal gave out details of his efforts to ensure, clear cut ruling is passed by the Govt on Hoisting of Tiranga at Public places. Earlier, the National Flag was hoisted on specific occasions for specific duration only. After a prolonged Court Battle, a ruling was given for display of Tricolour at Public Places, reminding public of a symbol which binds all Indians together and fills our chest with pride.
The Soldiers sacrifice their lif in the course of their duty.Tricolour is a holy symbol, under which Soldiers take Oath to safeguard the Motherland.The dead body of a soldier is wrapped in Tricolour, signifying the importance and emotional attachment of Soldiers for National Flag , even when they die while serving the Motherland. To honor the indomitable spirit of soldiers, and their service to society even after retirement ,few ESM were honored by Mr Naveen Jindal, after the Hoisting of the Tricolour was done on a 108 feet tall Mast. Brig Harcharan Singh was felicitated for the execution of Welfare Projects through a Pan India NGO, War Wounded Foundation , working for welfare of War Injured Soldiers. Such soldiers are provided Mobility Equipment and provided financial help in almost all fields, including psychological support through professional help by the Organisation.
Through another Organisation, National Corruption Control and Human Welfare Organization, work is being done in many fields. Major effort is to make the society aware about problems of Families of Martyred Soldiers, for which, the families of Veer Naris are adopted. They are provided psychological support and their children provided Career Counselling by experts.Brig Harcharan Singh also contacts higher authorities about problems faced by ESM.He is also a regular writer, who provides information on problems of Soldiers through analytic articles/interviews through Media.
The event organized by Nagrota Garrison was able to motivate the gathering and infused the Nationalistic values in the students and NCC Cadets. The conduct was done with military precision and professionalism, appreciated by all present. With the security challenges being faced by country, organizing such events was a very thoughtful and innovative endeavor by Army authorities. It gave out a clear message to all present""Country First, Always and Every Time ""
