NCCHWO Pays Homage to Martyre of Kargil at Jammu

 



In 1999,Pakistan intruders occupied vacant winter Indian Posts in Kargil Sector. The War lasted from 3 May to 26 July 1999, where the intruders were evicted from Indian territory.A jawan from Jammu, Nk Sukhjit Singh sacrificed his life ,while defending the motherland during Kargil War. A special Akhand Path was concluded at Jammu to pay homage to the soldier. 

Capt Ghar Singh attended the function on behalf of NCCHWO. The function  was graced by many ESM, locals and widow of Nk Sukhjit Singh, Veer Nari Ms Sukhvinder Kaur. After the Akhand Path, floral tributes were paid on behalf of NCCHWO by Capt Ghar Singh, to honor sacrifices of the brave soldier. Such was the bravery exhibited by Indian Soldiers that in this Short conflict , besides other Gallantry Awards, our soldiers were conferred with 4 PVCs and  11MVCs for exhibiting exceptional bravery. India lost a total of its 527 soldiers and 1363 were injured.

Ms Sukhvinder Kaur has been adopted by NCCHWO as part of its initiative under Project NAMAN. Each and every member of NCCHWO is proud of our soldiers and Veer Naris, who have made sacrifices of highest order for the country. NCCHWO makes a special appeal to our countrymen, to visit families of our Martyres of 1991 Kargil War, to remind them that whole Nation will ever be grateful to our Bravehearts, who *Gave their Today for Our Tomarrow*. We should never forget that , it is due to the sacrifices of our Soldiers that our Tricolour flutters with pride today and our Borders are safe. Jai Hind, Jai Hind ki Sena.
