Armed Forces are committed to safeguard frontiers of the Nation.To fulfill this role, a soldier has to be on guard ,day and night. Soldiers ensure that Citizens can get a peaceful environment, both from External aggression and Internal Challenges. To express gratitude to the ever vigiant Soldier, National Administrator NCCHWO Brig Harcharan Singh organized Rakhi festival with Army, with participation of members from NCCHWO, Inner Wheel Club Jammu Tawi(President Vinita Kohli) and Rotary Club Jammu Tawi(President Revika Arora) .Ms Paramjit Kaur, National President Women Empowerment Cell, NCCHWO coordinated the programme.The event was organized to Strengthen Bonds of Unity and to foster Commitment and Mutul respect between Soldiers and Citizens.
The event was held at Samba Military Station. The ladies tied Rakhis to the Jawans, the protector of the Nation and Pillars of strength. The threads of Rakhi and the knots symbolize the love of citizens and their faith in the Armed Forces. The Soldiers gave a silent Commitment to safeguard their Citizens. After Rakhi, a visit to the War Memorial was organized. War Memorial symbolizes the resolve of the Soldiers, who carry out their duties with dedication. The names of the Martyred Soldiers, inscribed on the walls of the War Memorial ,are testimony to the oath taken by a Soldier to sacrifice their life to ensure a Safe Tomorrow for their Citizens. With tears in their eyes and Pride in their heart, the ladies gave Floral Tributes to those, who sacrificed their life in the Line of Duty.
To commemorate the services rendered by our brave Soldiers, Tree Plantation was done. The tree symbolizes life and growth .Through Tree Plantation, a silent prayer was made for prosperity,Health and growth of our soldiers and their families.
On behalf of all volunteers, Brig Harcharan Singh thanked the Army Authorities, for providing opportunity to interact with the Soldiers. Other members from NCCHWO included Dr Arti Bakshi, Suresh Bala and Anju Khajuria.
The Nation will ever be grateful to the Armed Forces ,who ensure our safety.It is very aptly said for Soldiers "They don't just protect the land. They carry the soul of the nation in their heart".
