Brig Harcharan Singh has been associated with welfare activities of Veer Naris through a National Corruption Control & Human Welfare Organisation. War Wounded Soldiers are looked after through another NGO, War Wounded Foundation (WWF). On the eve of Diamond Jublee Celebration of 1965 War, a function was held at Samba on 12 Sep ,wherein , four modified scooters were donated to Disabled Soldiers. It was a tribute to valour and sacrifices made by Armed Forces in 1965 War.
Recently, a programme was held at Samba to honor Veer Naris and Enterprenurs. A special invitation was extended to Brig Harcharan Singh by Army, to attend the event. In the presence of ladies/Veer Naris ,he was honored with AWWA Appreciation Award ,on behalf òf Rising Star AWWA.An Award of Excellence was also presented to Brig Harcharan Singh, for making significant contribution in the field of welfare, connected with families of Soldiers, Veer Naris and Disabled Soldiers.
Brig Harcharan Singh appreciated the great role played by Army , in looking after Veer Naris and ESM. AWWA has been providing the healing touch to the families of Battle Casualities. He urged Veer Naris to keep in touch with Army Units and Sainik Welfare Deptt, to keep up with latest welfare schemes. He said that NCCHWO is acting as a bridge between Veer Naris and Citizens.
The recent floods witnessed dedicated efforts by units of Rising Star , to provide much needed psychological and material support to the Citizens.Special care is being taken to help Veer Naris and elderly ESM.
