Brig Harcharan Singh visited Garh Regimental Centre on 01 July 2025. An interaction with ESM was organized by GRRC at Kotdwar. Through Subedar Mahinder Pal Singh Rawat, President Poorov Sangharsh Samiti, Kotdwar, a case for discrepancy of Pension was brought to the notice of Brig Harcharan Singh. After the demise of her husband, Hav Rajinder Singh(R/O Pauri ) on 27 Jan 2024 during active Army service, the Veer Nari Sashi Nagi had some problems in getting entitled Pension.
The case of Smt Shashi Negi was referred to a Senior Army Officer in Deptt of Military Affairs, MoD, by Brig Harcharan Singh. The case was further progressed by the officer with concerned Branch in Army HQ.
An intimation has since been received from Sub Mohinder Pal Singh from Kotdwar, that the orders for Special Family pension for the Veer Nari have been issued on 04 Jun 2026 by PCDA, after due modification. Gratitude has been expressed by
Poorov Sangharsh Samiti, Kotdwar for the help rendered by Brig Harcharan Singh.
Brig Harcharan Singh said, it is a matter of satisfaction that correct Pension is now being disseminated to the Veer Nari. The matter has been resolved with positive support of senior Officers from MoD/Army HQ, Record Office ASC(AT) and PCDA Prayagraj. During progress of the case , everyone was concerned and sensitive towards problems being faced by Veer Naris, leading to quick action. Also, the Retired Soldiers and local NGO at Kotdwar have been relentlessly working to ensure that welfare schemes reach ESM , Veer Naris and families.
