On the occasion of World Environment Day, the NCCHWO & “Green Horamavu” environmental initiative was successfully organized in Horamavu, Bengaluru. The program was conducted under the leadership of National Corruption Control & Human Welfare Organisation & Green Horamavu jointly.
The event witnessed the participation of local elected representatives, corporators, ward leaders, environmental enthusiasts, and members of the public, all coming together to promote environmental awareness and conservation.
Horamavu Lake is a beautiful and popular destination visited daily by thousands of people for walking, exercise, and recreation. Stretching across approximately 4 to 5 kilometers, the lake offers a healthy green environment and scenic surroundings. However, it was observed that polluted water from a few external sources is entering the lake. This concern was brought to the attention of public representatives, who assured that appropriate measures would be taken to address the issue.
During the program, the need for public amenities such as toilets for senior citizens, diabetic patients, and regular walkers was highlighted. The requirement for additional seating facilities around the lake was also discussed.
Local Corporator Mr. Prakash assured support for installing benches at regular intervals around the lake and agreed to facilitate the construction of public restroom facilities. He also assured that steps would be taken to prevent the inflow of contaminated water into the lake.
As part of the World Environment Day celebrations, free saplings were distributed by the government, and nearly 10,000 saplings were allocated across various wards. Citizens were encouraged to plant and nurture at least one tree each as a contribution towards environmental protection and a greener future.
Let us protect our trees, keep our surroundings clean, and work together to create a healthier and more sustainable environment for future generations.
The program was successfully conducted under the leadership of Mr. Shafi of Green Horamavu & Dr. Vasanth Poovayya, State President & National Coordinator (Civil Defense Cell) of the National Corruption Control and Human Welfare Organization, with the active support of environmentalists, community leaders, and local residents.
All citizens of Horamavu are encouraged to continue participating in environmental conservation activities and adopt a healthy and eco-friendly lifestyle for the benefit of the community.
