AWWA Day is celebrated on 23 August. AWWA works to inculcate Hope, Trust and Confidence amongst families of soldiers through its outreach programmes, directed towards welfare activities. As a precursor to AWWA Day, an event was planned at Military Hospital Satwari, where citizens donated 13 Wheel Chairs, to felicitate movement of old ESM, Veer Naris and Disabled Soldiers within the Hospital complex. The event was planned by Brig Harcharan Singh, National Administrator NCCHWO & Mrs Paramjit Kaur, National President (Women Empowerment Cell) NCCHWO, who motivated Citizens of Jammu to donate wheelchairs. Zonal President AWWA graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The highlight of the event was the presence of War Wounded soldiers, who motivated the audience with their stories of resilience, Sacrifice and dedication to duty.
Article 51A of Constitution gives out guidelines to Citizens, to direct energies towards Nation Building. The event conducted at Military Hospital Satwari, enabled Citizens of Jammu to interact with War Wounded Soldiers and listen to the motivating stories of Sacrifice, bravery and Resilience.
Brig Harcharan Singh, National Administrator, NCCHWO informed the audience that citizens from various backgrounds have very proudly adopted families of Veer Naris from J&K, to provide them psychological support and guide their children. War Wounded Soldiers/Veer Naris/Decorated soldiers are felicitated in public functions. Motivational talks are delivered at Schools, by war veterans, to inculcate patriotism.
Contribution for donation of Wheel Chairs was made by Swatanter Aggarwal, Pradeep Jain, Naveen Jain, Ramnik Singh, Prof (Dr) Arti Bakshi, Jaininder Jain, Anoop Jain and Dr Ritesh Gupta.. Interaction was made by citizens with the War Wounded Soldiers . Capt Mohd Sadiq, SC, Nk Romesh and Nk Tarsame Singh recalled that they were badly injured during combat against the enemy, but fought until they eliminated the enemy. Many other organizations like We Care, Jain Samaj and Aggarwal Samaj has been supporting National Corruption Control & Human Welfare Organisation, to felicitate soldiers.
A Patriotic song was presented by Mrs Suresh Bala. Thereafter, the citizens who donated Wheel chairs , War Wounded Soldiers and Mrs Suresh Bala were presented Appreciation Certificates by the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts made by NCCHWO & brave people of Jammu to support Soldiers , both during peace and war conditions. Efforts made by Brig Harcharan Singh to provide psychological support to families of soldiers and War Wounded soldiers were specially mentioned. The function concluded with Votes of Thanks by Commandant Military Hospital.
Appreciating the programme at Jammu, Mr Ranjeet Verma, National Chief Secretary of NCCHWO said that we believe that Disability can be converted to Ability, if our disabled soldiers
are given support and opportunity by the Society. Brig Harcharan Singh has
identified the requirement of material and psychological support for soldiers and Veer Naris.
Felicitation of Soldiers by citizens is a proud moment both, for soldiers and citizens alike. NCCHWO will continue to conduct such programmes, to express gratitude towards our soldiers and to motivate our youth.
