There are Social Taboos, which does not allow certain poor people to ask for help. Also, some people feel ashamed to admit, they are not financially sound. NCCHWO trues to identify such proud but poor families ,so that they could be helped in total secrecy, so that social status of such families is kept intact. A family from remote border village requested for help for their daughter's marriage.
NCCHWO has been helping such families in the past also. A drive was under taken and items of ration, bedding and clothing was collected from various sources. Special mention of Sh ID Soni is pertinent here, who is a renowned social worker of Jammu. With active support of Mr ID Soni and many other NGOs, a composite package was delivered to the underprivileged Family by Brig Harcharan Singh, at their resident.
NCCHWO feels blessed to get such opportunity to support a family, requiring help for their daughters marriage. Such help was possible due to active participation of other NGOs and members of NCCHWO, J&K. In future also, such families will be continued to be helped, who are unfortunately not financially sound. Another project to construct bathroom for a family of a Widow is under progress at Akhnoor.
