NCCHWO Uttar Pradesh adopted a School in Lucknow: Rekha Bhooshan & Sunita Singh

As part of our commitment to community welfare, we have adopted a government school where the children were facing several safety and hygiene challenges. The school’s low boundary wall had become a serious concern, as miscreants from outside would often jump into the premises, steal school property, and even harass the girls, putting their safety at risk. Understanding the gravity of the situation, we took the initiative to raise the height of the boundary wall to ensure a secure and protected environment for the students.

In addition, the school’s flooring and washrooms were in a dilapidated condition, causing great discomfort to the children during school hours. We have now undertaken the repair work of the damaged floors and unhygienic washrooms, aiming to provide a cleaner, safer, and more comfortable space where children can focus on their education without fear or inconvenience. This initiative is a small step towards nurturing a brighter and more secure future for these young minds.

In a significant step towards women's health, we initiated a Cervical Cancer Vaccination Drive for underprivileged girls and women above 15 years of age. While free vaccination for girls under 15 is expected next year, those above this age group are often overlooked due to the cost and requirement of three doses. Recognizing this gap, we took the initiative to vaccinate young nurses from financially challenged backgrounds who couldn’t afford the vaccine. This project aims to protect and empower them with timely prevention and awareness.
