Training Girls In Self Defense- A Step towards Women Empowerment : Dr. Vasantha, National Coordinator (Civil Defense Cell), Karnataka

 





Healthy Citizens are an asset to the Nation. In addition,  Women play a major role in shaping the future of the Nation,  as  they teach values to children as a Mother. To mould the   minds of girls, to  teach them leadership skills and to make them confident leaders, an initiative was taken by Princioal of SSPS Girls School, Mysore. To prepare Girl Students against nuisance of Eve teasing,  the Principal approached Mysore District President NCCHWO Dr A Sonia Madappa  for  organizing  a Self Defense Camp Training camp for Girl students..


National Corruption Control and Human Welfare, Karnataka  President, Dr Vasantha Poovaiah has been conducting regular camps to impart training to youth in Martial Arts.  Sensei Manu and Birth Kumar,  are senior students of Martial Arts in Madiya District, trained by Dr Vasantha. They were deputed to conduct training for students of  SSPS Girls School. The training camp was designed to   train women in Self Defense Techniques through physical and mental fitness exercises. The aim was to Empower and motivate them for future role  as confident and strong Pillars of the society. These trained girls will further train other girls in Self Defense Techniques,  in order  to face the challenges of eve teasing.

 

A total of 100 girls students and staff of the School attended the training camp.

On behalf of NCCHWO ,Dr Sonia assured that the training of more students will be undertaken, to empower our Women  as future confident leaders and string pillars of our Society.


The efforts of NCCHWO Karnataka were appreciated,  under able guidance of Karnataka President Dr Vasantha by National Leadership.
