1. A programme was conducted by the Tiger Division , where Citizens werep rovided an unique opportunity to associate themselves with the families of those soldiers, who made supreme sacrifice for the country. With thes upport of the Army, Project NAMAN was conceived by National Corruption Control and Human Welfare Organization (NCCHWO). VariousO rganisations from Jammu volunteered to be part of this noble idea, whereinc itizens adopted families of the Veer Naris. The Army coordinated the eventa and provided help for the conduct of the programme attended by Veer Naris, Citizens, soldiers and ESM.
2. After a soldier sacrifices his life in the line of duty, his family undergoes a Mental Trauma. NAMAN provides a platform to NGOs to associate themselves with these families. This association would provide Psychological support to Veer Naris and their children. This association is a tribute to the valor and sacrifices of our soldiers and their families.
3. The programme started with a session, where the Veer Naris received educative lectures from qualified Psychologist Ms Vidushi, working with renowned Psychologist Dr Arti Bakshi. This team has pledged to continue to give support to Veer Naris on mental and physical health. A WhatsApp group will be managed by NCCHWO to ensure that an intimate communication is maintained with Veer Naris by members of Project NAMAN. Lady members of Organisations will keep close liaison with Veer Naris and also ensure, their Children are guided on studies/ future opportunities through Career Counseling.
4. The programme was graced by GOC Tiger Division and Chairperson FWO, along with Army officers/ladies and members of NGOs. Two Sportswomen of National Fame, Ms Tina Sahi and Ms Kanupriya, narrated their Motivational experiences and achievements in the field of Sports.
Their talk exhibited a perfect example of Women Empowerment, proving that a determined woman can achieve the Impossible . Thereafter, Brig. Harcharan Singh informed the audience about Project NAMAN and the need to organize programmes on similar lines in other States/UTs also. He said that it is a matter of honor, pride and duty for the Countrymen, to provide a healing touch to Veer Naris/families through a process of social interaction. He expressed thanks to the Army for providing a platform to the citizens for this noble cause. He added that we are proud of our Armed Forces, who have exhibited examples of bravery and highest standards of dedication to duty, while the soldiers serve in the most hostile and inhospitable terrain/weather.Veer Naris are inspiration for the nation, a true symbol of strength, patriotism and motivation.
5. Chairperson FWO felicitated the Citizens who came forward to be part of a noble cause, through Project NAMAN. Veer Naris were felicitated by GOC Tiger Division and other dignitaries, as a mark of respect for the sacrifices and contributions. Addressing the gathering, Though the Army already has a system in place to ensure maintaining close liaison with ESM/Veer Naris,the efforts of NGOs through NAMAN will act as an additional channel for feedback.
6. The coordination and Administrative support by the Army ensured that the event was conducted smoothly. Giving out Votes of Thanks Brig. Harcharan Singh expressed thanks from all ESM and said, such noble initiative by the Army should be followed in other parts of the country also.
Appreciation was extended by NCCHWO to its members, Mr Swatantar Aggarwal, (President Aggarwal Samaj) and Sh Giat Nandan Jain President SS Jain SabhaTalab Tiloo) and participating NGOs, to include SS Jain Sabha and Jain Mahila Mandal, Talab Tiloo, Aditi Foundation, Rotary Club Elite, Inner Wheel Club Jammu Tawi/Jammu and IWC Kesaria.
The programme concluded with the recital of the National Anthem.
