Independence is not free, it requires sacrifices. Who can understand this statement better than the families of those brave Soldiers, who gave their life in the Line of Duty. NCCHWO has started Project NAMAN, wherein houses of Veer Mata/Veer Naris are visited by the members of the society regularly. NCCHWO has motivated other NGOs also to participate in this noble venture,in order to pay respect to the families of our Soldiers.
2.A team of NCCHWO, was lead by Brig Harcharan Singh, joined by members from Inner Wheel Club ,Jammu Tawi, visited houses of Veer Naris at Jammu. Ms Anita Singh and her husband Comdt Gurdip Singh have adopted family of Veer Nari Rani Devi . Ms Daljit Kaur and her husband Lakhwant Singh have adopted family of Veer Nari Veena Devi. The delegation visited both the Veer Naris.
3.Brig Harcharan Singh enquired from the Veer Naris, about the availability of various Govt grants to these families and also checked about correctness of the Pension being received by them. Any problem being faced by these families is brought to the notice of appropriate authorities from Army and Central/State Govt . In addition to maintaining close liasion with these families, the children of these families are given guidance and Career Counselling. These visits are a regular feature , aimed to raise morale of our soldier and provide much needed psychological support to our brave families. Due to efforts of Brig Harcharan Singh, recently Hon'ble, Chief Justice (HC of J&K & Ladakh ) passed orders to provide free legal Aid to Veer Naris. NCCHWO and Veer Naris are grateful to Hon'ble Chief Justice for this initiative, a real tribute to sacrifices of our soldiers.
